Full Moons of 2023

While the monthly New Moon is always a time to plant seeds for a new beginning, the Full Moon is a bold culmination of actions set forth at an earlier time. If you know the saying, you reap what you sow, the New Moon is the sowing and the Full Moon is the reaping.

The goals and intentions we set at the New Moon will come to fruition either two weeks later at the Full Moon (a bit unrealistic for big things) or (more likely) at the Full Moon of the same sign as the New Moon about six months later (more realistic for bigger things).

There is always polarity in the Full Moon because it is the one time a month when the Sun and Moon are furthest from each other. Coupled with the profound illumination above that happens at the time of the Full Moon, we can think of this as a metaphor for zooming out and seeing our circumstances through a brighter lens.

Of course, because of the realizations and shifts that come into play, it can be a very emotional time and our bodies, getting acclimated to the shift, can become ill. It’s a great time to take the integration slowly and nurture yourself.

If you set intentions at the monthly New Moon, some of them, or at the very least, clarity, will come together two weeks later at the monthly Full Moon, but larger wishes and manifestations will likely come together six months from the New Moon at the Full Moon of the same sign. If you plan to set intentions at the New Moon each month, check out this article!

For example, if the New Moon is in Aries–– when the Sun and Moon are both in Aries, this is going to happen in the spring. The Full Moon in Aries is going to happen when the Sun is in Libra, which always happens in the fall in these parts of the world. Naturally, this happens with every sign and sign polarity throughout the year!

To know when your intentions will likely come together, take a look at the dates below and look at the Full Moon that corresponds with the New Moon of the same sign six months prior. The New Moon on January 21, 2023 will correspond to the events at the Full Moon on August 1, 2023. The complete list of New Moons of 2023 are listed here!
